Group EMDR Therapy for Trauma Recovery
Experience EMDR in a supportive, professionally facilitated virtual group.
When an EMDR Group is a Good Fit
EMDR groups may be helpful when several people have been affected by the same distressing or traumatic experience. A group format can offer a structured, supportive way to process the emotional impact of a shared event while maintaining privacy - participants do not need to share the details of their experience with the group.
SHARED DIFFICULTIES
Families, coworkers, teams, or other groups navigating the impact of a distressing event together.
SCHOOLS + UNIVERSITIES
Support for students, faculty, staff, or campus communities affected by a traumatic event or crisis.
CANCER JOURNEY
Cancer patients currently in treatment or their caregivers - Group EMDR can help address the emotional and psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis and treatment journey.
TRAUMATIC EVENTS
Groups affected by a recent traumatic experience who may benefit from a structured, facilitated approach to reducing distress.
Every person and situation is different. EMDR groups are not appropriate for everyone, and Wren begins with an individual consultation to determine whether the group format is a good fit and to answer questions before participation. If you're looking for information on one-on-one therapy instead, explore Individual EMDR Therapy.

Together they provide a structured, supportive, and carefully monitored therapeutic experience.

What is EMDR Group Therapy?
A Structured Protocol for Recent Traumatic Events
Unlike traditional talk therapy groups, EMDR group therapy allows participants to process difficult experiences without having to share personal details aloud. Using a structured EMDR protocol, participants work quietly on their own experiences while receiving guidance from trained facilitators in a safe group environment.
Benefits
Many participants report:
-
Reduced anxiety and emotional distress
-
Less tension and hypervigilance
-
Greater feelings of calm
-
Increased emotional resilience
-
Relief related to a specific difficult experience
Every person's experience is unique, and individual results cannot be guaranteed.

All participants agree to confidentiality guidelines.
-
Sharing personal details is optional.
-
EMDR processing occurs silently, so participants do not need to discuss their trauma with the group.
Because trauma processing can sometimes temporarily increase emotional distress, participants should have adequate support available outside of the group. The initial consultation helps determine whether this format is appropriate for your needs.
